Meet Our Incredible Pooches!

At Pawsitive Futures, we believe that every dog deserves a loving home where they can thrive and be cherished. Our furry friends are not just pets; they are family members waiting to bring endless joy and happiness into your life. Each dog has its own unique story, character and quirks that make them special. These are the loving canines who are eagerly awaiting their forever homes. All our dogs come with a free settling in session from Kit the Dog Trainer who works with them while they are in our care.

Teddy

Not ready in the near future.

Teddy is an 11 month old Maltichon, he is up to date with his vaccinations.

Teddy was born with a paw defect where his tendons did not properly form in his right paw. We are in discussons with our vet and surgeon about the best course of action, whether that is amputation or physio and a splint. He knuckles when he walks and that has caused him to rip out a claw which then got infected. When he first arrived he was showing signs of aggression due to pain. We have managed to get his pain under control, but Teddy still has food aggression and is reactive to new people and dogs. He is fine with dogs in the home, but can show signs of aggression around food. We are working with our behaviourist on this. What is apparent is that he is extremely anxious, so we are working on building his confidence and resilience. He is, underneath all his bravado a dear little boy who just wants to be loved.

He won't be available for a few months while we help him to become the best version of himself, but we're confident that he will overcome his anxieties when his medical issues are sorted.

As Teddy has a bite history (due to pain) we will not home him with children, but he can live with other calm dogs. He needs brushing daily to maintain his bichon/maltese coat.

Teddy is crate trained, has great recall and is able to be left for a few hours with no issues.

Echo

Ready Now!

Echo is around 3 years old. She's a staffy mix (possibly American Bulldog), she's deaf but hides it very well.

We took Echo as an SOS, she was on death row at the pound, her time was almost up. She was dumped on the street in London.

Echo is good with other dogs, she is neutral to cats, loves her people with all her heart. Because we don't know her history, we can't home her with children, but we have no reason to believe she wouldn't be ok with children - she literally loves everyone she meets.

She hasn't shown any guarding issues around food, she sits really nicely and waits for her meals, eats with other dogs. She can be a little bossy with smaller dogs, but it's more a motherly thing.

Echo is a very adaptable dog, she's happy to be wherever her people are. She did have separation anxiety when she first arrived, but is now happy to be left for a few hours.

Daisy

Ready Now!

Daisy is 2 years old, a miniature Dachshund, and is deaf/blind. She is a resilient little girl, maps quite easily to find her way around. She has been known to climb a blanket pile! Speaking of blankets, she loves them and often covers herself up.

She absolutely loves her walks, we put her on a longline in open spaces and let her run. She trusts implicitly and knows that we will keep her safe, so her confidence is amazing.

Daisy doesn't really require any adaptations, just some patience to allow her to map her environment and know that she will likely bump into you while she's navigating her way around.

She is great with other dogs, loves to play, and also loves cats. Shes more than happy to share her bed with a cat.

She's very independent and likes to be treated as much as possible like a 'normal' dog.
